Employment Opportunities, Training and Education
Moving forward in 2008, we offer an on site Technology center, GED Preparation, Job Search and Training, and Employment Seminars to connect families to information and opportunities leading to life enhancing skills.
The Bedford Hope Center has an on-site GED instructor to assist residents in preparation for the GED exam. Residents can schedule class and/or individual time with the GED instructor. Below are a few links to GED resources:
The Hope Center is equipped with an A. Phillip Randolph Computer Learning Center that has Internet access, office software, resume templates and links to online GED tutorials. The computer lab can be utilized for creating resumes, doing online job searches, computer classes for Adults. Courses offered to adults include:
- Basic Computer Literacy
- Keyboarding
- MS - Word
- MS - Excel
- MS - Powerpoint
- Internet Basics
The Resident Computer Program also offers a Computer Donation Program, where HACP residents can receive a refurbished computer by completing ten computer objectives.
The Hope Center is also equipped with a Youth Computer lab that allows children access to computers for after school activities, robotics program, and our Homework Helper program, which is scheduled to start in Fall 2008.
