Northview Heights Welcomes MarchPittsburgh

July 17, 2015

Northview Heights Estates residents were joined on Thursday, July 16, 2015, by a host of community organizations for the kick-off event of March Pittsburgh – a movement that aims to ensure that every single child in Pittsburgh is provided with proper health coverage.

Held in conjunction with Northview Heights’ 2015 Community Day, the March Pittsburgh event was supported by a wide variety of organizations and individuals, including: UPMC, the office of Mayor Bill Peduto, Councilwoman Darlene Harris, Allies for Children, the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh and many more.

Currently, roughly 2,000 Pittsburgh children are without health insurance. The goal of March Pittsburgh is to help families get each and every Pittsburgh child enrolled for coverage by signing up for Medicaid or PA’s CHIP program. According to Mayor Peduto, “Every kid in the city of Pittsburgh is going to have health care. That’s our goal, and we’re going to hit it.”
