Community Description: This 123-year-old brick structure was restored based on strict guidelines of the U.S. Department of Interior Standards for Restoration of Historic Buildings. Located in the heart of the popular South Side, the 70-unit building was once home to the Samuel F.B. Morse Elementary School. Morse Gardens is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The original schoolhouse bell adorns the atrium. Morse Gardens’ 1-bedroom apartments for senior citizens and persons with disabilities are spacious and modern. Features include an outdoor courtyard and a community room. Morse Gardens is located just blocks away from a supermarket, pharmacy, churches, and South Side Hospital.

    Provider: UPMC
    Location: 2416 Sarah St., 1st Fl.
    Program Description: Living At Home (UPMC) nurses provide blood pressure screenings once a month, as well as health and educational programming; pharmacist and flu shots when available.
