Community Description: Garfield Heights is a family community located near the East Liberty business district of Penn Avenue and Highland Avenue. Giant Eagle and Shop N ‘Save are close for convenient shopping. Schools are also very close, some within just a few blocks. The Garfield Heights community consists of 3, 4, and 5 bedroom townhouses. Garfield Heights is located directly on the PAT bus line with several stops throughout the community. Parking is also provided for residents with their own vehicles. Each unit is equipped with washer and dryer hook ups and has its own front and back yard. Trash pick up is three times a week via conveniently placed dumpsters and bulk pick up can be arranged through the management office Monday through Friday.

    Program Description: Year-round after school and summer academic program is geared to assist children ages 5-12 years and parents with after school day care needs.
  • Knowledge Connection
    Provider: Allegheny County Library Association
    Location: 5176 Columbo St.
    Program Description: The Connection, which is set-up as a mini library operate over 30 hours per week to provide youth with after school programs and educational activities, adult basic and literacy education, reading clubs and support groups. Carnegie Library cards can be used to take out books. Each Center is equipped with computers, with Internet access, for resident usage. High school students work in the Centers as library assistants and adult residents are referred to fill the position of reading center managers.
