How to Apply for Housing

All communities managed directly by HACP are described within this section of our web site under HACP Communities. The housing units available through the Housing Choice Voucher Program are listed within a the Property Search section of this site. Since these units are provided by the private sector and people move regularly, the specific units available change continuously.

To find out about the availability of HACP properties, or to apply for Low Income Public Housing, please contact the HACP Occupancy Department at 412-456-5030, or occupancy@hacp.org.

To begin the process of applying for low-income public housing at the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh, download the LIPH Pre-Application & Instructions. Please read the information on pages 1 and 2 thoroughly (Instructions & "Things You Should Know") before completing the pre-application.

Please be advised: you will be provided with a site selection chart when you hand-deliver your completed Pre-Application to the HACP Occupancy Department. If you plan or mailing or faxing your completed Pre-Application, please contact the Occupancy Department at 412-456-5030 for instructions on how to obtain a site selection chart.
